What I learned in the mist of adversity

By Specific tools for individuals No Comments

Here I am sharing with you few thoughts about what I learned in the mist of adversity…

Tip #1 – Keep a smile on your face!

Spreading out bad vibes and low energy is never a good idea. Keeping a smile on your face in all circumstance may be seen as a naive, childish or even irresponsible behaviour… Actually in many occasions, it proved to be a great tool to walk through any kind of challenge. Maybe because it’s the best way to send assurance and self-confidence to the mind; and also, a way to make sure we keep a positive and fruitful connection with others, whenever difficult moments come to attack us.

Tip #2 – There is no crisis, life is a crisis…

When the attack starts, always make sure to put it into a global context. In the VUCA world, we now have integrated the idea that nothing really last in stability and certainty. Life is and will always be a succession of “crisis”, and this is the essence of it.

To quote the beautiful and unique Marilyn Monroe:

“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

So is speaking life to us.

Tip #3 – Ask yourself how much this issue will really weigh in 50 years from now?

Finally, a little bit of relativity can help. What if you transpose the problems you are carrying in 50 years from now? Which one of them will still be remembered, and still impacting you (and the planet) in 2070?

In this new and fresh perspective of your present, you should get some wise clues in hands, and get prepared for Life on Mars!

7 key questions to exit the crisis

By Specific tools for individuals No Comments

There will be an end to this crisis! Eventually.

Press the pause button and ask yourself these 7 questions, for more clarity and fresh energy!

  1. What went WELL?

Self-awareness is always easier when it starts with the positive. Look at your bright side first!

While we are all stuck in the middle of such scary time, let’s try to focus on the positive that is still emerging.

  1. Even BETTER if…?

The crisis is not over, however since it started, for sure you have adapted your response to it.

Remember these moments from the beginning, when you were not so happy with yourself. Analyse the things you did wrong, the small mistakes and the big fights…

Can you spot more room for improvement?

  1. WHY was it so challenging?

Acknowledge an unsatisfactory action and ask yourself: what are the real roots of it? Only once we touch the why can we begin to move forward.

  1. Am I getting CLOSER to my goals?

Every action we undertake matters to get closer to our goals and to our vision. A regular check of what really matters helps to stay focused and to get clear results.

While going thru a crisis, do not forget the goals you set to yourself. Every little step you manage to do in the good direction counts.

  1. Did I have FUN?

Reconnect to your emotions. What did you really enjoy recently? Reflect in a way that you actually feel your experiences again. The way you felt might reveal more about yourself than the action itself.

  1. Did I WASTE my time?

It’s a crazy world. We know that. Too many words, too much digital noise, few human momentsand no-more-time (or too much time, right now!).

You don’t need to waste your time anymore with boring activities nor energy-draining things, such as to-do-lists and emails. Simply deciding what you do or do not like can set you up for future peace and efficiency.

  1. What makes me feel FULFILLED?

The last but not least question is about your future self. Keep the connection to your long-term fulfillment goals. Only you can tell.

The crisis is over: summer is coming. There will be sun after the rain, together with fresh energy, creative action plans and colorful roads.

Let’s transform the crisis into the perfect timing to look for new ways in which to fulfil yourself!

Stay safe!
